HOCKEY BACKGROUND

Is currently the assistant general manager of the St. Louis Blues, and will become general manager at the end of his two-year contract … Spent parts of seven seasons (2002-2007) as general manager of the Dallas Stars … Spent 16 years as part of the Dallas/Minnesota franchise, the first seven as assistant general manager under Bob Gainey … Helped the Stars to two Pacific Division championships (2002-03, 2005-06) during his time as general manager … Recorded the third-most points (427), third-most wins (190), second-most home wins (110) and second-most home points (240) among all NHL general managers between his appointment on January 25, 2002 and the end of the 2006-07 season … Had a 197-123-54 record as general manager, the highest winning percentage in franchise history … Won two Presidents’ Trophies (1997-98, 1998-99), two Western Conference championships
(1998-99, 1999-2000) and one Stanley Cup (1998-99) during his time as assistant general manager
