CALGARY, AB - Canada's National Men's Program will be well represented, as Canada will be fielding three
separate rosters, participating in three upcoming international competitions in Sweden, Germany and
Switzerland, the Canadian Hockey Association announced on Thursday.
Canada has assembled rosters of Canadians, most of whom are currently playing in Europe, for these
upcoming three events. The CHA and the Men's Team coaching staff are taking part in these competitions with
three different rosters as an opportunity to evaluate players for future events in Europe.
The Lloydminster (SK) Border Kings just completed a three-game series, as they represented Canada with
Poland's National Team in Poland, as the CHA continues to take pride in representing Canada on the
international hockey stage at a number of events in Europe.
Sweden Games in Stockhom, Sweden November 5-11, 2001
The CHA's Vice-President, Hockey and Head Coach of the National Men's Team, Wayne Fleming, will coach a
team that will take part in the prestigious Sweden Games from November 5-11 in Stockholm at the spectacular
Globen Arena. Fleming will be joined behind the bench by Dallas Stars assistant coach Rick Wilson. Canada
will be up against National Teams from Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland and Russia. The Canadian team will
feature a number of former NHL-ers, such as Chris Joseph (Burnaby, BC) and Mike Stapleton (Sarnia, ON),
Calgary Flames prospect Micki Dupont (Calgary, AB) as well as Edmonton Oilers prospects Chad Hinz (Saskatoon,
SK) and Alex Henry (Elliot Lake, ON).

Exhibition game against Switzerland in Zurich, Switzerland November 7, 2001
A team coached by National Men's Team Associate Coach/General Manager Mike Pelino will play the Swiss
National Team on November 7th. The roster for this game includes former NHL-ers Dan Hodgson (Ft. Vermillion,
AB) and Adrien Plavsic (Montreal, QC) as well as a number of former members of Canada's National Men's
Team.
Deutschland Cup in Hannover, Germany November 8-11, 2001
A third team, also coached by Pelino, will take part in the Deutschland Cup from November 8-11 in
Hannover, Germany. Canada will be facing National teams from Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland in this event.
Canada won this event for the first time in 2000. The Canadian roster features several former NHL-ers, such
as goaltender Jimmy Waite (Sherbrooke, QC), Lonny Bohonos (Winnipeg, MB) and Greg Andrusak (Cranbrook,
BC).
